Quality Inspection: frequently asked questions

How much does a quality inspection cost in China?

US$249–349 per man-day, standard US$299, including the report with photos. Remote regions add travel at invoiced cost. Lab tests are extra and also passed on at invoiced cost.

Which inspection do I need?

Pre-production (PPI) checks materials and components, during-production (DUPRO) catches problems at 20–60% completion, and pre-shipment (PSI) checks finished, packed goods before you pay the balance. Most buyers book at least a PSI.

What is AQL?

AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit, ISO 2859-1) sets how many units to check and how many defects are acceptable. A common standard is 0 critical, 2.5 major and 4.0 minor.

When do I get the report?

Within 24 hours of the inspection, with photos, measurements, defects found and a pass/fail result. You decide whether to release payment.
